How to winterize an rv by blowing out the lines

funkyjunkinteriors.net/

Last year we stored our RV at the dealer and they winterized for us. THIS year, we don’t want to leave it unattended on our street for the winter. So, store and winterize, we must.

When I googled, “Do I REALLY need to winterize?” and no actual answer to that question came up. (Am I really the only one asking this question?). We drained all the holding tanks, hot water tanks, and lines, but we didn’t blow them out, as the method below describes. All you need is a compressor and a fitting for your water intake. Check out the steps here:

You don’t need to blow out the lines, just disconnect the hose from the fresh water storage tank, put the end into a gallon jug of RV antifreeze and run it until it comes out of every faucet in the RV. Then it also lays in the traps all winter. Takes about 15 minutes.
