I’m not much of a fidget-er myself, but I get the science behind the article put out by the New York Times. Essentially, if you’re sitting at a desk all day, you should get up when you can. ONCE AN HOUR! If you’re unable to do this, well, fidgeting serves a pretty decent purpose of increasing blood flow to your limbs.
I do this on airplanes because I’m usually not too focused on anything but being confined and cold and too immobile. But if I’m sitting down working for any extended period of time (not as long as most people with desk jobs, mind you), I probably don’t think to do this. It helps!
