When I first started a garden I just bought everything that appealed to me: Annuals, perennials, grasses, and bulbs, and went planting willy nilly. It actually didn’t turn out all that bad, but now that I know better, I can appreciate that a little planning and understanding can go a long way. This article is really helpful for bulb planting. I didn’t know, for instance, that bulbs kept in containers really should be discarded because they are too crowded and probably won’t flower the following year. Had I known that, I may not have hung on to a plastic pot of freesia bulbs for 3 months for no reason.
