We eat exclusively free range eggs in our home, and organic when available. We have grown accustomed to the deep yellow color associated with egg #3 above and have almost forgotten that your average farm factory egg looks lighter yellow like #2. Now, #1 is ORANGE. I have never seen one that dark. And as instinct might dictate, the darker the egg, the more nutrient dense the yolk is.
