We’ve done a DIY tree bench before, but it was making one from scratch. I love this idea because you’re not only upcycling furniture that may otherwise never be used agin, but it’s pretty much skipping a step and making the process a heck of a lot easier! The “seat” portion still involves a lot of measuring and cutting, but if you’re precise, this whole project should be a piece of cake. As the author observed, however, make sure you pick an appropriate tree first and CHECK FOR ROOTS! If you don’t have a flat surface around the tree you can’t set these chairs down around it.
