The absence of just such a guide as this is what has previously made my hostessing anything more than 10 people a challenge. I never know exactly how much to make. I usually just ask my mom who notoriously overdoes it, and then reduce her estimate by 20%. I would say that I agree with all the estimates above except for the wine. You NEVER want to run out of wine. One bottle per person (or ask everyone to bring their favorite). Anything that does get opened today gets opened eventually!
