Recently using ice for certain injuries has been called into question. Some research has shown that ice isn’t particularly effective for healing an injury. The chart in the link below is mostly on target in my opinion, but do be mindful: Ice is numbing, not healing. Yes, it reduces inflammation. But it also reduces blood flow, which is necessary to carry nutrients to an injured area. So use only if pain is unbearable or swelling is out of control!
