We bought our tree today! It’s table-top size, which is perfect for our space and much easier to transport and care for than a full size tree. But, with it still comes the responsibility of caring for a…tree. In your house. The first thing I learned is that the water level for the tree must be constant and plentiful. Our tree came with a stand and it was bone dry when we bought it. The problem here is that, after a few hours of being dry, the tree cut will start to form a sap coating. When that happens, no water can be absorbed through the stump. I may have to recut the bottom of the tree, and no one wants to do that once it’s decorated no matter how small!
