I understand well the temptation to turn on the TV when you’re trying to get something done and your toddler is literally climbing all over you. We’re tired. We’re out of creative ideas to entertain. And we just want some peace. Unfortunately, if we fall back on TV too much or too often, there is definitely detriment to the child. It is simply too much stimulation for an undeveloped brain under the age of 5. But what to do?
Keep a repertoire of activities that will be new to your child that might entertain them for a solid half hour like those in the link below. I love the idea of putting paint in a bag and taping it to a table like in the picture above!
