This report is a bit difficult to follow at times, but the gist is really interesting. Essentially, up until now, scientists believed our working memory, (the kind that enables you to memorize a phone number and then dial, for instance) needed to be in constant activity to retain the information. So after you dialed the phone number and had a conversation, you’d be unable to recall it and it would be gone forever.
Apparently, by later activating the part of the brain that would be retaining that phone number with a magnetic source, the brain still had the info stored away! How interesting is that! And the future implications are being considered. Read the detailed article below:
