I can’t tell you how many times I end up googling whether or not you can recycle a pulp-fiber egg carton (you can’t). I don’t know what happens at the recycle center when they find items that don’t belong, but I’m guessing adding trash to the piles just wastes time and drives costs up. As for composting, well, if you have a pile going on your property, the last thing you want is for it to get smelly and/or attract vermin or other animals.
