When we moved into our house a few months ago, there was mold growing on ALL of the caulk and a significant amount growing in a lot of the grout between tiles throughout. I did a bleach scrub and was able to clean the grout, but the caulk? I didn’t give it the due diligence it required. My husband ended up scraping some off and re-caulking. This is a sound plan presuming you then CLEAN the area behind the removed caulk really well. If you don’t, the mold will just grow back on your new caulk. Now we have to remove all the caulk again to the tile, clean properly and recaulk. But if re-caulking sounds daunting try cleaning it first. A little bleach paste and saran wrap should do the trick.
