I just bought a lovely little, potted gardenia from Trader Joe’s last week. It bloomed one lovely, little fragrant flower, which lasted a solid week. I smelled it several times a day because there is little scent as heady and tropically delicious as a gardenia. Then, I was gone for two days and returned home to a dried out, wilted, dropping-leaves, bloomless plant. I almost cried. “No one watered my gardenia??” Seriously, I had to tell someone to do this? Apparently, I did. And since this fickle little plant doesn’t like dry soil or air, she protested. Much. I was hoping rewatering it would revive it, but it dropped a lot of leaves. I read the following article and found out that she’s also not been getting enough sun.
