My little boy turned one month old today! He has been the sweetest, most mild-tempered little nugget, with a soulful gaze and a head full of hair. He’s perfect in every way except he may have been born with an epiglottis (the little flap of cartilage that closes off the trachea) that isn’t completely formed. This apparently causes a wheezing sound while nursing and also a little reflux. I thought maybe his reflux was really bad because I feel like he’s been spitting up A LOT. But then I read this and realized it’s not as bad as I thought and there are ways I can manage his feedings to keep him more comfortable.
