I often wonder what this world would be like if the internet disintegrated. Just think—only 25 years ago the internet didn’t even exist. Just think back to those simpler days if you are old enough to remember them. We used pay phones, encyclopedias, or had good old fashioned debates about things that we couldn’t immediately Google. So why is it that we go into a panic if we accidentally leave our phones at home or if the internet is suddenly on the fritz?
This Buzzfeed article is a few years old now so disregard the very first suggestion, which is to text a code to access a Google search. Apparently, that function no longer exists. (I tried. So sad! Thought that was a neat trick). BUT the remaining tips are quite solid and I hadn’t considered before. For instance, you can use your SMS texting functions to send and receive emails, post tweets and reply to facebook messages. Cool, huh?
