I get confused when people speak about turmeric, especially when they start throwing in the words curcumin and curry. So I googled it and this is what I got:

Turmeric is a plant that is of the ginger family, it is native to southern Asia. Curry is a spice made from turmeric roots, curry is used for flavoring in Indian and Asian cuisines. The yellow color comes from a chemical called Curcumin and it is produced by turmeric and other plants.

It is believed that turmeric has many health benefits. Although curry is made of turmeric, it is not a sufficient source to benefit from the properties of turmeric, but turmeric or curcumin substances are available in vitamin stores and online.
