New York State attorney general’s office is leading an investigation into store-brand supplements at four national retailers; GNC, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, and Target. Supplements at theses stores have been found not to contain what they claim, instead, they put in cheap fillers like wheat and soy powder.
The lack of regulations in regards to herbal products has given stores leeway to sell the public supplements that do not contain herbs shown on their label and sometimes include potential allergens without including them in the ingredient list.
