While spoons are always available, can openers are not. In many situations, you might find yourself in need of a can opener only to discover that you forgot to buy one. Hopefully, this won’t happen to you in a survival situation, where you have stocked all the cans for doomsday, and when it came you realized you forgot to get a can opener lol.
I’ll be honest, a spoon will never be my first choice for a can opener, that’s what survival knives are there for. But just in case, this is a nice trick to have up your sleeve.
