We spoke in an earlier post today about the very good reason farmhouses use whitewash that gives them their beautiful white color, protects the wood and is a better option than paint because of its nontoxicity to the animals around the farm and the lower price. Whitewashing is mainly made from lime, salt, and water, which makes it an organic and safe mixture that can be prepared at home.
