This has always been one of my mom’s greatest fears. I get why. There is nothing more terrifying to me than imagining drowning while trapped in a sinking car. The odds are unlikely but it CAN happen. And it happens most when there are flash floods or torrential rains that come on suddenly.
People think that “they can make it,” when faced with a body of water on a road that they’re trying to cross. If you have to “think” about whether or not you can cross a flooded street, you probably should just turn around and find another way to where you’re trying to get to. Follow the rule of “don’t drown and turn around!”
