I once read a blog with the title stated above “Here’s why my kids are only getting gifts cards this Christmas” on babycenter.com. The article isn’t there anymore but I found it interesting. However, when I first read it I thought how lame! If I had a parent like this I would probably run away. But when I read the reasoning behind it I saw the point the author is trying to make. The five reasons they gave for why their kids are only getting gifts cards this Christmas are:
They’re travel-friendly (I think this is a selfish reason)
I don’t feel like going Christmas shopping. ( Another selfish reason)
My kids have a million, gazillion toys already ( got a point there)
Gift cards allow the kids to pick out their own gifts (Also a good reason)
This season is meant to be more about what we already have (aaa.. I don’t know)
I personally wouldn’t ruin Christmas for my kids but there are other alternative for toys out there. Some of them mentioned in the link below.
