Polish woodwork with lemon oil and vinegar
Prefer natural solutions to commercial cleaners? This DIY wood polisher exudes both a lovely fragrance and brilliance. To do this, add 1 part lemon oil and 1 part white vinegar to the spray bottle. Spray the solution directly onto a dry microfiber cloth and use it to wipe down your cabinets, pantry door, and baseboards.
Use your vacuum to clean out cabinets
For another kitchen cabinet cleaning tip, use a vacuum cleaner to clean the cabinets. Don’t waste time trying to pick up the crumbs with a cloth, but try to use the vacuum brush attachment to press it on the button and then suck it up. This cleaning technique can also work wonders on food storage racks.
Wash your oven rack
Washing powder is not only used for laundry. Immerse the oven rack in a bathtub filled with washing powder to restore the original gloss of the oven rack without scrubbing (and possibly scratching!). Let stand for at least four hours, then remove and rinse with water.
Soak your range hood filter
The filter on the stove’s exhaust hood will quickly become greasy, dusty and rough. To clean it, boil water in a large pot and gradually add 1/2 cup of baking soda. Next, put the filter in the pot to soak. The entire filter may not fit your pot, so if necessary, soak each side separately. After cleaning one side, turn the filter so that the other side is soaked. It will be very hot, so be sure to wear gloves!
Keep your disposal smelling fresh
Few things are quite as offputting as smelly garbage disposal.
To solve this problem, please use one of our favorite kitchen sink cleaning tools: lemon ice cubes. To make them, just fill the ice cube tray with lemon cubes, rock salt, and water. After freezing, eject the cube along the drainpipe, and then dispose of the garbage until the ice cubes disappear. Rock salt scrubs the leaves, while ice helps break up any black and dirt. Lemon helps keep the fresh smell of the sink.
