Matt is a chronic re-organizer. I am a chronic under-organizer. HOWEVER, I have a knack for spatial visualization and seeing how to make things fit. Our tiny RV fridge can sometimes pose a challenge after an afternoon visit to the supermarket before lunch. We sometimes forget what we’re working with and over-buy. This happened just a few days ago and I sat there looking at our stack of packaged poultry and beef, and said, “We’re never going to fit all of this.” The challenged was posed and Matt got to work! Now, we haven’t used any of the tricks in this article yet, but the first thing I’m going to do is buy some magnets to glue to the many small containers we use…that way you can stick them to the side of the fridge to make more room on the shelves! Here are the ideas from the source link, but if you want to see pics skip to the link a the bottom of this post.
1. Reduce waste by putting expiring food in a seperate box and label it “Eat Me First” box.
2. Stand condiment bottles in an egg carton upside down.
3. Plastic wrap your refrigerator shelves for easy spill cleanup.
4. Add glue magnets to the bottom of containers and stick them to the sides of your fridge.
5. Create freezer shelves from magazine holders.
6. Keep things within reach with a Lazy Susan.
7. Get neat, easy access to fruit by placing a basket in your crisper drawer.
8. If you have a chest freezer, organize items in reusable fabric shopping bags so you can pull things out easily.
9. Create a kid-friendly snack zone that’s easily accessible.
10. Revamp your fridge with chalkboard paint and stay organized with a written weekly menu.
11. Organize items into food groups with dollar-store baskets.
12. Decrease visual clutter by transferring condiments to matching squeeze bottles.
13. Make more room in a freezer by clipping opened bags underneath a shelf.
