It’s coming to that time of year where we are going to need to start preparing for all that snow and ice! Just today, a few towns over from us, there was an accumulation of 2 inches of snow on the ground! When I heard that, I immediately called my tire guy to get my snow tires put on my small car. Those things really do make a world of difference!
Anyway, to avoid ice buildup on your stairs which can be incredibly dangerous, here is a convenient trick you can use! It doesn’t involve salt so it is slightly cheaper and less damaging to your sidewalks, shoes, and insides of your house.
How to Prevent Ice Buildup on Stairs Without Salt
All you need is an empty gallon jug
2 Tsp Dawn Dish Detergent
2 Tbs (1 ounce) Rubbing Alcohol
