Growing up, we had several traditions every year. We would set up the tree on December 9th (because both my mother and brother have early December birthdays and we didn’t want to shadow them out), on Christmas Eve we would have a huge feast and then open a single gift and watch a Christmas movie. And then on Christmas day, my brother would run through the house screaming, “Santa came! Santa came!” at the butt crack of dawn. Do you know how early that is?
On another note, since I have my own little family now, we are trying to figure out what traditions we want to start with our kids. So far, I think we are going to do the movie on Christmas Eve along with a present of new pajamas (Christmas themed, of course) and some candy to go with the movie.
