Patio furniture can get quite expensive. As someone who has overspent on outdoor furniture in the past and been disappointed with the durability of the furniture we paid so much for, I have to admit this seems like a great low cost alternative to some of the options stores will give you. You can complete this project for around $8. I can’t imagine spending hours on end lounging on these, but for impromptu seating for your next backyard bbq they would work just fine. They certainly look more stylish than the generic plastic lawn chairs you can find at almost any store. One fellow DIY-er reported these chairs holding upwards of 400 lbs with no problem, so they are structurally sound.
