I never take my engagement our wedding rings off. And truth be told, this is not a great practice as my ring looks dingy all the time. I used to have a jar of commercial jewelry cleaner, but have it away when we moved onto the RV. Now, I’m looking at my dirty and cloudy diamond wondering how I can clean it. Turns out some of the homemade jewelry cleaners you find out there on the Web can do more harm than good. Things like baking soda and toothbrushes may be too abrasive for your stone.     Toothpaste! BTW nothing is to abrasive for a diamond. It’s the hardest natural substance on earth.

      This isn’t just about cleaning diamonds. Gold and some other gemstones can and do scratch.

    Window cleaner – ammonia. I just spray it on and take a soft toothbrush and they sparkle
