After posting about how to diligently rid yourself of weeds without using chemicals, a thoughtful reader suggested we should all be eating the weeds we pull instead of trying to eradicate them! On the whole, she is right. Dandelions are almost everywhere and are universal known for having liver-cleansing greens. There are many more that have benefits, but here are the top five according to Healthy Holistic Living: Stinging nettle, Dandelions, Catnip, Lambs quarters, and Amaranth. Missing from this list is purslane. This one is so cool and high in Omega-3 fatty acids that if I see it anywhere, I will tug off a leaf and eat it!
