How many times have we seen a video on America’s Funniest Home Videos of some poor schlepp attempting to cut down a tree on his property only to watch it fall on his house? The first thought that springs to mind is, “HIRE A PROFESSIONAL!” This is generally not territory you want to mess around with as an amateur. BUT I know so many of you have a lot of confidence in your abilities and might attempt it anyway, so you might as well learn the right way to do it. If the tree is small and in open space, it really isn’t that big of an ordeal, if you have a chainsaw of course. But please, folks, don’t take matters into your own hands if you’re looking at a tree that would kill you before you kill it.
