We looked at an adorable, Craftsman style house today in the suburbs of Richmond, VA. It had so many lovely touches that built up the character and charm of the home. But, when we looked closely, we saw that some of those finishes were….unfinished. Namely, the window mouldings. We put it together, that this really impressive-looking window trim was actually just a DIY job, similar to the one above. They just didn’t finish painting the edges of the wood, exposing the truth!
We thought, what a GREAT idea! How easy it would be to just measure and cut some pieces of wood, hammer ’em in, and paint them, and increase the value of your home by a solid 10%. I went hunting on the interwebs and found this tutorial. Bear in mind, the shapes of the wood here are really a personal choice!
