I used to be a big believer in supplements when I was younger. Then there came a moment when I realized I was spending a lot of time and money on things that I wasn’t even sure worked. So I dumped most of them including a multi-vitamin, and conducted more thorough research. It turns out, the following list really is kosher and I can get behind each of these recommendations as a health and fitness professional. I have at one time or another taken all of them, and the only reason I am not doing so now is sheer laziness!
The only thing I would add to this list is Vitamin C. We are the only mammals that don’t make our own! Which may explain why we get sick so frequently. Whenever I feel a cold coming on, I supplement with 500 grams of Vitamin C every two hours. Since it is a water soluble vitamin quickly absorbed and used by the body, you have to keep your cells saturated in order to boost your immune system functioning.
