I don’t know how accurate these studies are in reflecting actual facts, but they are indeed interesting. I heard before that smarter people are more depressed in general, so I don’t know if as the article says their stroke risk is lower, you would think that happier people have lower heart disease risk.
“The analysis reveals that a higher score on childhood IQ tests is linked to a 24 percent lower risk of dying from stroke, a 25 percent lower risk of dying from coronary heart disease, and a 28 percent lower risk of dying from respiratory disease.
The team also found links between higher childhood IQ and lower risk of death from injury, dementia, digestive diseases, and smoking-related cancers such as lung and stomach cancer”.
Childhood IQ linked to longevity
But if it is the case and both studies are true, how unfortunate would that make smart people? I mean, they would live long unhappy lives. I really feel sorry for the intelligent :P.
