Many survivalists may get a little snooty about what constitutes tinder for starting a fire. If you’re a purist, it is thin, dried twigs and grass. If you’re the-ends-justify-the-means type of survivalist, anything that will burn fierce and briefly is tinder. My husband likes to buy the enviro-logs and their tiny tinder fire-starter counterparts. Recently, I have felt very motivated to start a fire the old fashioned way (ok, technically not THAT old-fashioned because I’m still using matches and a lighter). But this is just for campfire fun, and I DO find it fun to get a fire going with whatever nature provided around me.
