I swear, everyone should have a bottle of Poo Pourri or the like in their bathroom! I’m here to tell you it works! Without going too far into detail, I can tell you that my bathroom is not as smelly as it has been in the past. While I’m pretty sure the original Poo Pourri’s started as a gag gift, it actually does work and it works well! I can’t tell you how many times I replay the look on my mother-in-law’s face as she opened her very own toilet box full of Poo Pourri. Now that was a face worth recording! However, those boxes can be quite pricey! Last time I priced them out, it was pretty much the cost of a box of diapers. With a little boy still needing diapers, it was difficult to want to spend money on that, so we had to find an alternative. Making our own seems to be the best way to go and plus, we get to pick our own scent! That’s what I call a win-win situation!

Simply fill a 3-4 ounce spray bottle with 1tsp of alcohol, 30+ drops of essential oil (your choice– lavender, orange, rosemary, peppermint, lemongrass or a combination of several), and then fill the remainder of the bottle up with water. Spray your toilet bowl 3-5 times before you use the restroom.
