Love hammocks? Sure, who doesn’t? Love hot tubs? Of course, how could you not? How about a hammock hot tub? Hmmm. Let me think about that one for a moment… Think of it as a jucuzzi-couch hybrid. It doesn’t get more relaxing than that. Throw a beer in my hand and call it heaven. Oh and the perhaps biggest perk of this contraption is the fact that it is completely and totally portable! It is essentially a waterproof hammock with a portable propane powered hot water attached. So, it is exactly not hiker friendly, lugging around a propane tank and water heater. But if you have a picturesque not so remote spot that you think would be perfect to sit suspended in hot water for a bit, than this is the unit for you!
I really do think it is quite the innovation. I am sure that there will be plenty of criticisms. But great ideas always have their fair share of critics. It is not a full fledged hot tub. It is not a lightweight, hiker friendly hammock. So don’t expect it to be. It is it’s own thing, a true marriage of the two elements. Bringing a warm soaking experience to locations you could not install a hot tub in is a remarkable feat, and I would personally love to try it out. You can even dig a hole in the ground (think beachfront) place the hammock in it fill with water and have a hot tub in an area with nothing to hang a hammock from.
It is not cheap, with complete packages starting around $1400. But, then again hot tubs aren’t cheap. I wonder if there is a way to make a DIY version….If you would prefer to purchase one instead, or just want to learn more here is the company’s website
