It’s summer, and if you are in the habit of taking walks in the woods or in areas with tall grass you will likely have faced a tick and probably freaked out the first time. Ticks are gross and nasty but unfortunately, they happen. They attach when you don’t want them and you can’t ever really truly prevent them. So the only reasonable thing to do is learn how to extract them when they do show up. There is a right way and a wrong way, though. When you remove a tick, you have to make sure you get the whole body. Sometimes the head can detach and stay embedded in the skin. In this case, it works much better than just yanking.
