I have probably watched all the survivalist shows and movies on Netflix, including the ones with a one-star rating. They may all give you a hint or two but to be honest I don’t believe that a real-life disaster would be anything close to what is presented.
The article below tells us how to survive a global disaster from an academic point of view, and it is summed up in these 6 points:
1. Don’t bunker up with hundreds of tins of baked beans, you will not survive.
2. You need to go rural … but not too rural. You need a community, but a small one
3. You need access to running water to drink and agricultural land to grow your own food.
4. Establish communications and the best choice according to the author is the use of wifi
5. Don’t trust the government or law enforcement because you don’t know if their orders are in your best interest.
6. Prepare to be self-sufficient for a long time, because you don’t know when things are going to go back to normal
