If you like eating from your own garden here is an idea: grow your own avocados. I have tried it once and it was working but having to move I gave my baby tree to my neighbor at the time. You can start growing an avocado tree yourself, and all you need is a seed.
Half of the avocado seed should be covered in water and the other half should be in the air. To do that you have to take the seed of the avocado fruit, wash it, dry it with a towel, and stick 3- 4 toothpicks right below the middle line of the avocado. The picks are to help the bottom half seed stay inside the water and the upper half outside. Fill a cup with water and place the seed as shown in the picture above.
Leave the seed like this for 3-4 weeks until the seed splits then move it to a pot. Remember to keep the cup of water full. Below is a link to a step by step guide to growing avocados at your home.
