How Little Habits Throughout Your Day Are Harming Your Health

I sat in a waiting room today and felt myself instinctively cross my right leg over my left. Whenever I become aware that I’ve done this, I un-do it. The question is–why do so many of us find this unhealthy position so darn comfortable? One good reason to NOT cross your legs is that the compression in the nerves can cause spider veins. A quick glance at my thin-skinned thighs is ample evidence for this. But this isn’t the only thing many of us do that could be doing us in! Wearing belts too tight, stretching our backs first thing in the morning (SHOCKER here, right?), and chewing gum….all bad news.
