It really takes a lot of determination to be able to follow a low carb diet. Or at least that is how I see it. However, sugar according to research is the mother of all illnesses. Starting from insulin resistance and diabetes and the obesity that comes with it, to being the main food for cancer cells.
On the other hand, our body works against us when we try to eat more sugar by what we call carb cravings. First of all, when you eat sugar your body releases serotonin, the hormone of happiness, making your brain see it a reward or a way to cheer up if you are stressed, or what we call stress eating. Long story short it’s a vicious loop.
