I think it’s difficult for most Americans to really see Memorial Day as more than a long Weekend that kicks off the summer season. And that’s ok. But we can all stand to be reminded of its intended purpose: to remember fallen soldiers and to respect those who have dedicated their lives to protecting our country. Matt was a marine before we met. He was honorably discharged just months prior. I don’t think I could have handled being a military wife any berry than I would’ve handled being in the military myself. I’m always blown away by what these folks willfully choose that the rest of us could not. What we CAN do is support them when the government does an inadequate job of caring for these brave soldiers and their families.
