This DIY is for the SERIOUS preppers out there that really want to know how to do anything. I can’t see myself ever setting up this inferno to melt down cans, but I suppose it’s worth a look so at least you know how to do it should the SHTF! The molten metal can then be shaped into whatever object you desire, like a pot, or maybe even something dense like weights (you’d need a lot of cans!) Check the link below out to learn more:

Just don’t do what you’re seeing in the pic on the link. Take some time to shred your cans up and use borax (or other suitable flux) unless you want to burn off over half your raw materials and end up with dirty/weakened castings.

It takes a lot of cans to equal a small amount of usable aluminum. Storm windows/ doors, lawn chairs, pots are everywhere.
Wear a metal vapour respirator even outdoors because if aluminium burns it’s toxic
