Nipples are not only decorative, but you already know it. Some things you may not know: Your
nipples may indicate some serious health problems.
If you notice that the skin around or on the nipple suddenly wrinkles or wrinkles (especially only around one nipple), call your doctor. This may be a warning sign of breast cancer
1.Sports and working out can chafe nipples:A suitable sports bra can help, as can a non-dandruff balm or round band-aid on the nipples. However, if you do not exercise vigorously and notice that your nipples are red, itchy, scaly and/or peeling, please see a doctor. Gendler said this may be a sign of Paget’s disease, a rare cancer involving the nipple and areola. She added: “It may also be eczema, so don’t worry. Please ask the doctor to evaluate it.”
2.Nipple pain during breastfeeding is common (and preventable):Beating nipples, burning, cracking or sore nipples are common discomforts, especially during the first few weeks of breastfeeding. However, if this pain persists, please consult a breastfeeding specialist; your baby may not be latching on properly. An Australian study showed that full breasts can also cause nipple pain, and nipple infections caused by bacteria or Candida may also cause nipple pain.
3.The nipples are the erogenous zones for women (and some men too):According to researchers at Rutgers University, the sensations produced by nipple stimulation and sensation travels to the same pleasure centers of the brain as sensations from the vagina, clitoris, and cervix. Piercing fans, take note: Nipple piercings may lead to loss of sensation due to nerve damage.
4.Hairy nipples are normal, even for women:Those small bumps around the nipple are normal hair follicles. If you have black hair on your nipples, please remove, wax or trim them carefully. If these hair follicles are painful, enlarged or itchy and scaly, see a doctor. This may be a sign of infection or cancer.
5.The third nipple is more common than you think: According to one estimate, as many as 27.2 million Americans have a third nipple somewhere in their bodies. These “excess” nipples are often mistaken for moles or skin tags. Dr. Grace Ma, a plastic surgeon at Peachtree Plastic Surgery in Atlanta, explained that having a third nipple is not a problem and can be easily removed during outpatient surgery. She said: “The whole process takes about 30 minutes, and recovery is minimal.”
